Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) tweeted that the Board has Suspended NIN for JAMB Registration 2020, According to JAMB; Candidate are to only Send their NAMES to 55019 To Create Profile.

According to JAMB Registrar; Prof Ishaq Oloyede who said in a press conference at Abuja on Saturday 11th January, 2020.
“NIN is Suspended for 2020 Registration. Candidates are to only Send their Names to 55019 To Create Profile”.

Reasons Why JAMB Suspended NIN (National Identification Number) For Registration 2020
Last year 2019, Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced the use of NIN for JAMB Registration which would take effect from 2020 Registration on UTME and Direct Entry (DE) registration process but as a matter of fact, due to the challenges faceed by Candidates and NIMC stakeholders during the rush hour NIN registration and intend to hinder 2020 JAMB UTME and DE registration which would commerce on 13th January, 2020 to 17th February 2020.
But still yet, Many Candidates has not yet gotten their original NIMC Copy with their NIN number on it.

Also at the press conference with JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede stated the technical issues is one of the reasons slow down the process of the exercise and cause for the suspension of NIN Registration for JAMB and for the National Identification Management Commission to fix every challenge that would hinder the process in 2021.
Candidates for UTME and DE exams for NIN Registration encounter difficulties during the process and the NIN requirement was a precondition for JAMB Registration henceforth.
JAMB Requirement for NIN Registration was Suspended for 2020 exam, this suspension was to enable 2021 candidates get their NIN registration done before 2021 and easy the JAMB Registration for 2020 candidates and make them focus more on their exam preparation.
Also to give NIMC more time to make provision for more advanced system for National Identification Number (NIN) Registration 2021.
